To honour, look after and pass down the treasures (Tāonga) of our heritage. Inspired by the rightful return of missing Motunui carvings to New Zealand after decades abroad, Tāonga is a collection celebrating the Māori concept of tāonga tuku iho; passing treasures down through generations.
Crafted from and giving purpose to inherited silks, embroidered fabric and sequins, Tāonga gleams in burnt reds, dark golds, deep blues, bronze and seaweed greens; the physical embodiment of the burning sunrises and black beach sunsets of Motunui.
